I know that this is a little
Premature but..
Since all of us will be having a  or or maybe both
Do you plan on having a Baby Shower before the baby is born, after or no shower
I said I was not going to have one but everyday I am starting to change my mind. I was thinking of having a arrival shower

Well, I am sure my family will plan one before a baby is born if I am lucky enough to conceive! We can use all the help we can get for all of the baby things that are needed!

Some people don't believe in receiving gifts before baby is born sometimes for religious reasons

I agree!!! My bridal shower helped us a bunch, so a baby shower would be a total blessing!

I had one when I was pg with DS. Im sure my family will plan another one whenever I get pg again. DS is 5 and most of his things were handed down so I would need all new things.

No shower before or after. Gifts for my child will be given at a bris or a baby naming ceremony. I am not concerned that my child will do without. My nieces and nephew did fine and there were no showers for them either.
ETA: It isnt for religious reasons per se, just more for superstitious reasons. I do not recall ever having read in Jewish law that showers are not to be given - if is more tradition that anything else.

I really didn't want one for superstitious reasons also but knowing my family they would suprise me with one anyway, it has been over 12 years since I had a child

My family definitely will not do it. As for my friends, I cannot speak for them. My mother intends on buying all of the furniture. I guarantee my ILs will be equally as generous as our child will be their first grandchild. And there are tons of aunts, uncles and cousins (on my side) to dote upon our little ones as we did for theirs. Any gifts given to us beforehand will not come in our home.

I had one when I was pregnant with my DD. I probably won't have one this time around unless by some chance someone decides to throw a surprise one for me.
