I know this belongs on another board....
But, I don't go to any other boards anymore -- and well, it's sort of parenting related!
It's my dads birthday tonight and my parents are coming over for dinner. My dad is bringing filet mignon. What are some sides I can make with that. I have NOTHING in the house so I have to go out and I'd like what I make to be fairly easy in case I have to do it really fast because of Jack (That's where the parenting part comes in)
Thanks girls!
How good does this look:

Re: I know this belongs on another board....
I would opt for the Peter Luger's version.
Creamed Spinach (frozen unless you're a cook, which I'm not).
Baked Potato (can cook in the oven, you dont' have to do anything except make them not burn)
Appetizer: Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato, FRESH basil, balsamic vinegar

Re: I know this belongs on another board....
Saute some green beans in olive oil with almonds - really yummy.
How about baked potatoes? Goes well with steak (from what I can remember)

Re: I know this belongs on another board....
Roasted herb potatoes.
I usually do it with medium size red potatoes.
Clean/wash potatoes Cut in Quarters (cut in half then again in half or third each half... Like BIG fries)
In a bowl mix olive oil, cumin, cayene, chili powder, italian seasoning, organo, garlic salt, etc...
Put potatoes in bowl and mix well.
In pre-heated oven at 400, put on sheet or broiler rack. Cook for 40 minutes (or until tender and slighly golden).
