i know you arent supposed to get cavities filled while pregnant...is the same true while breastfeeding?
I have a tooth that's killing me. Someone told me you weren't supposed to get novacane or cavities filled while breastfeeding. know this is true while preggo bc it can bring on contractions...is it true for bf also?

You can get cavities filled while pregnant. I did! I just couldn't get full strength nummy meds.. It wasn't bad. I would think it would be the same with breastfeeding. I would call the dentist and ask them..

I had cavities filled AND a root canal while pregnant with DS!! While pregnant you have to get carbocaine NOT novacaine. and its not because of contractions, its because novacaine has a chemical that makes your heart race and therefore will make the baby's heart race as well. I would see if its the same for BF. Call your Dr and ask. The dentist should know too.

I had to have a wisdom tooth removed while pregnant. I had epi free Novocain and took Tylenol for any pain. The dentist usually knows what is okay to take.

i had all 4 wisdom teeth removed while i was breastfeeding. i was asleep for the procedure. i took percocet for pain after since thats safe for BFing (they give it in the hospital after c-sections). i confirmed with the OB that all of this was ok. they were going to give me vicodin but i asked for percs and they were fine with it.

OMG!!! i was going to ask the same thing.
I have to have a cavity filled on monday - i was going to call the dentist to ask and if they didnt know, call my OB.
