I know you're all sick of hearing from me about this
Tonight's the first night that I'll be taking Tylenol with codeine in an attempt to get some restful sleep.
I know it's not going to be the miracle that I have so desperately prayed and cried for for the past 4 1/2 months, but I hope it's a little better than the painkiller that I've BEEN taking.
I'm just so nervous about it. I know you guys have tried to comfort me up and down about it, and I know I need to do this for ME so that the baby doesn't feel my stress level (which has been through the ROOF), but I just can't help the feeling that she's depending on me to protect her...not drug her up. 
Anyway, wish me luck. I would love nothing more than to be able to sleep more than an hour at a time.

Listen, I currently take 13-16 pills a day and am on an infusion pump that pumps drugs into me 24/7.
I have been scared and freaked out about hurting my baby and I hate that Im always on sooo many more drugs PG then not PG.
but bottom line, I have to survive and my baby cant if I dont.
You have to think the same way and just do it, and assume the best. Dont let the worst thoughts even enter your head. The What ifs can make you crazy!
I hope you get some relief and this is what you need to feel better!!!

Thanks everyone. It's 4:55 in the morning, and I've been up for the past hour and a half. 3 hours of sleep. Nope, it didn't work.
I truly think that doctors are just giving me these pills to shut me up and make me go away. I just don't understand who I need to see or what I need to say to get them to listen. I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE.
I love this baby more than anything but this pain makes me think terrible things. I can't stand it. I don't understand why other people get to enjoy their pregnancy--and then there's me. Here I am.
I just want this whole thing to be over.

Oh I have been there. Things were so bad with Noahs PG, I just couldnt see any positive outcome being worth it. I guarentee you it IS. I promise!!
I also understand no one listening. With Noah I was 27 weeks and anemic, vitamin deprived before I got help.
What you have to do is start getting irrate. Ask them if there is nothing they can do for you. So if theres nothing you can prepare mentally but if there is other options you want them NOW..ONE after the other till one works!

Aww Beth I am SO sorry  seriously anyone who's had that chronic pain is NOT sick of hearing you, we totally understand it. And when I had my disk issue I wasn't even pregnant - all the painkillers in the world didn't relieve it, and I don't know what was the worse - the constant pain, the inability to walk, the MONTHS of no sleep/interrupted sleep, or the feeling that just no one "gets it", especially the doctors. Until I found the right doctor, and had the surgery (which I know you can't do right now) I was absolutely in a depression so I can really empathize with your post last night.
Listen, I know you're not in NYC, but the doc who operated on me is a world famous pioneer in spinal surgery, he's operated on Dennis Byrd (The NY Giant who was paralyzed in a game? that man WALKS today!!!) and I know Wayne Gretzky goes to him and a lot of other athletes. I was so LUCKY to get him, I thank God every day for his help. I wonder if you could call their office and ask/PLEAD for a referral to someone in your city who could help???? Its worth a phone call or two, I know you're really in a terrible state.
If you'd like the number/name PLEASE FM me and I'll get it to you. NEVER STOP TRYING to get help, I was just like you, running around to appt after appt, filling scrip after scrip, and it was ALL worthless, it just wore me down more. So frustrating!!! I'll say a special prayer for you tonight too, you really do deserve some help, and to enjoy your pregnancy. I am so sorry...

since drugs and chiro aren't working, did you ever try to buy one of those elastic belly support things (they sell it on target's website under maternity intimates).
If it's genuinely just the baby weight that's messing with your spine, those may help re-distribute the weight  I bet the best kind would be one that shifts the weight downwards to your pelvis (away from your spine). I wonder if there even is one like that... but maybe you should check... at least it's worth a shot...

I agree with all of this. I understand the toll chronic pain takes on you mentally and physically.
I think you need a referral to a REAL pain specialist. You don't have sciatica which I think is what a lot of people are trying to offer advice on. You have a ruptured disc which is totally different and excruciatingly painful. 15 weeks is a long time to suffer if there are other options.
