I love BFing!
Ok, so we are at 3 months of EBF and I can finally say..... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
It was totally rough in the beginning but it is the most amazing feeling to go to the pediatrician and hear his weight. It is so awesome to know that his growth is all from me.
I know I am giving him the most nutritious diet for his age around.
And, to top it all of - it's free!!  Now living on one income I totally appreciate any and all savings I come by.
So, just wanted to post my love of breastfeeding. I know a lot of moms out there are just starting out with it and possibly getting frustrated (we've all been there). But maybe this post will help you make it through the day.
eta: not trying to force my opinion on anyone. And I totally understand BFing isn't for everyone. Just trying to pass on some hope to some that may be having a tough time with it.

Great job!
I actually got an e-mail today from a relative who was trying to help, but suggested I wean Ryan to make my life a little easier. I honestly will be really upset when I stop - I really enjoy it and it still amazes me that my body produces his food (and it still amazes me that we grow people in our bodies  )

WOW great to hear I LOVE IT also! The first 2 months were a total nightmare! I was so ready to give up! But I swear I love it ! Everything you ladies said was true ! I will miss it also when the time is over! (I was telling my Dr how much I love it..and he answered me with ya know you cant do it until he is 10 years old!)

And let's not forget the added perk that it burns hundreds of calories a day! I was enjoying a bowl of ice cream every day and the pregnancy weight disappeared in weeks! Yay for BFing!!!!

I think it is so weird and amazing that we grow a person inside of us?!!!!!
I know, I love BF and will have to give DD bottles of formula during the day as I am going back to work in 6 weeks and won't be able to pump at work. i am bummed about this but hope to be able to continue feeding in the AM and PM.

aww jess i really needed to see this  i know you wrote it for you but it helps me to read this too!!!
although BFing is getting easier it's nice to know that there is a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel where one day i can actually forsee enjoying this!!

I'm sad because I just started to love it as well- just when i have to go back to work on Monday  I hope that my supply stays up as well so I can still feed DD in the morning and at night...

It is a great feeling. I am almost at 9 months of bf'ing. I lust love looking down and seeing ds snuggled in when he eats. Not too fond of the rip the nipple off game but hey at least he doesn't have teeth  . Congrats on 3 months of nursing. Great job mommy!

I remember feeling that way with DS and when i stopped BF'ing him i felt sad. I am actually enjoying it now more with DD in the beginning b/c i know more of what I am doing. Things are going great so far with her BF'ing

You could not pay me enough to have me quit. Just an expression) Any amount of time you can do it is great. I am aiming for min of one year. I love it when Jennifer falls asleep while nursing. I love when people say "wow all those rolls are breast milk"
It so much easier in my opinion. No bottles to tote, no getting out of bed to feed the baby in the middle of the night.

I would have loved an LIF BFing support group. I was a little bit intimidated by some of the other groups. I had to quit BFing for medical reasons but I needed constant reminders that I was doing what was best for my situation. I got those reminders from LIFers, many who did breastfeed their own babies (or are now). It helped to know that even moms who advocate breastfeeding felt that I was doing okay.

I think this is a great idea. Sometimes it's hard to find people to connect with on such a personal level going through similar experiences.
I know if it weren't for my sister pushing me through (she is BFing #3 now) I would have probably never even tried it.
Let me know where and when and I am so there. Or I can help coordinate - just let me know

That's awesome. I really really wish I had had that reaction to BF'ing. My Mom always described BF'ing me as so special. It just didn't work out for DD and I....plus, I just didn't like it. I pumped for 10 weeks, and that's all I could give it....I just felt like it really screwed with my hormones/emotions.

I BFed DD for 7 months (Exclusively for 5 Months) I just stopped this past week, she was only nursing at night at that point. It has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I absolutely loved that time with her and the closeness we shared. I loved watching her grow on my milk. I miss it terribly and look forward to BF my next baby. You are doing a Great Job!!!!

I love it too. I love the nursing part, it is the pumping part I can't stand.
I love when he is curled up next to me and we both fall asleep while he is nursing.
I am almost at the 6 month mark. I am hoping to continue, I am just having trouble pumping enough the 3 days I am at work.

Still nursing twice a day over here and DD is 19 months. I LOVE IT too and I dread weaning. I finally understand how some people say nursing a toddler is great. DD points to them, calls for them and says "yum yum". I also had a rough start (DD didn't want to latch at all for a good 3 or 4 weeks). but once we got started I can't imagine my life without it.
I understand that many women have trouble, but I personally think everyone should at least try it. If it doesn't work, move on and don't beat yourself up, but I have a feeling there are people who might actually like it if they gave it a chance.

I have to say, I love seeing posts like these . I nursed DS #1 for 9 months. I do plan to nurse DS #2 for a full year. He is only 6 weeks now but latched on right away and is nursing like a champ. He was born 6 weeks early at 5lbs, 12 ounces. We went to the doc today and he now weighs 8 lbs, 9 ounces. I love that all this weight gain is from mommy  (of course I still get the comments from MIL like, "oh, now he will have to go on a diet  ). My mom and MIL had children at a time when it wasn't encouraged for women to BF. It is tough when I don't get their support but I think my mom finally understands.

MY MIL actually thought I was overfeeding DD. Chubby babies are healthy and I would not want to refuse to feed her.
