I love my Crock Pot!
I have had my crock pot for about a year and a half. I am not a "crock user' in the summer. But this week I busted it out. Last week I made Turkey 3 Bean chili, and today I made Spicy Beef Chili.
I am making a creamy chicken recipe this week also.
What about you? Anyone else love their Crock?

i made salsa chicken last night and it was so good but a tiny bit dry... I added sour cream to it when I served, and cilantro... do you add cream while it's cooking?

I love mine! I just made turkey chili the other day.
For those scared of leaving it on, do it while you're sleeping then. At least you'll be home.

Re: I love my Crock Pot!
I wish I loved my crock pot! I really could benefit from it especially lately. If only I actually liked how the food came out! I'm not sure if it's because I end up leaving it on for 10 hours (doesn't have timer) or because I'm just used to fresh food, not from cans, and everything ends up tasting overcooked, mushy, and the flavors just don't work for me.
I feel like I go through phases where I try but then end up throwing out a lot of food and just put the pot up in the cabinet again.
Has anyone overcome these issues and ended up loving their crock pot too?

Do you have a low setting? I set mine at 845am and we don't eat until 7 usually. It never tastes over cooked... cause its on such a low temp all day! Also, you can totally put fresh food in there... always fresh meat.. and I put veggies, etc in!

i use:
1lb chicken 1 jar salsa 1 can FF cream of mushroom soup 1/2 cup FF sour cream 1 can of tomatoes with green chilies 1 package of taco or chili seasoning
put the chicken in the pot, sprinkle with the package of seasoning. then pour the rest of the ingredients (mixed together) over the chicken. cook on low for 7 hours
you obviously don't have to add the FF...but i tried to healthy it up. it was so f'n good!!!

Re: I love my Crock Pot!
Yes, on low. For example, if I made a roast, the potatoes and carrots were way overcooked IMO.

do you have a keep warm feature? i put mine on at 6:30 for 7 hours. once the 7 hours is done, it goes to keep warm until i get home at 6.

I don't have a keep warm feature. So, it's on low for 10 hours.
