I love the fan

The past 2 nights we've had the fan on in DD's room (we haven't gotten an a/c for her room yet, and we've been lucky that the fan has been OK!) - and i'm sure its the white noise - but she has slept ALL NIGHT LONG. She usually will wake up once or twice a night, she's 8mos.

Yesterday she had no afternoon nap at daycare, which I'm sure contributed to it - she fell asleep in the carseat on the way home and at 7:30 she woke up in the 'transfer' to her crib, so I fed her and then put her back down.

She was hungry as a monkey this morning, but wow. whenever these little flukes occur, i think I could get used to this!!!

Ahh, dare to dream. Its nice while it lasts!!

I love the fan also - we also have an AC in their room - but I totally believe the white noise helps them sleep longer.

my sister (mother of 6 kids) swears by the fan- always has one going in her kids rooms until they are about 2 or a little bit older....i have a white noise maker (sounds like sssshhhhhhh) along with soft music for DD (jack johnson, ben harper, joe purdy) and i swear by them both....good going on the fan!! looks like itll be a keeper for a while....

ps- once, when my DD was about 2 months old, i couldnt get her to stop fussing- like nothing was making her happy. i happened to be at my sisters at the time, and came up to me and plugged in the hair dryer...DD was asleep in 2 minutes!!! thats when i went to bed bath and beyond and got the white noise maker, and havent turned back since...

yea we play a CD that has static on it for background noice - we have since she was probably a month or 2 old. And I think that my help keep out the household noises, but nothing like this :)

its so funny when you stumble on something like this that is so simple that makes them happy!!

I agree about the white noise. We've had a white noise machine on everynight since we brought her home. She falls asleep to the sound of the ocean.

We also have a fan on. (we've yet to put the ac in) She loves it. That with the ocean sound, she must think she's on vacation.
