Re: I love this house in L town
Bathrooms and kitchen are gorgeous!
I don't think the original was knocked down- the bones still look like a Levitt cape, with the kitchen to the right of the stairs.
I see more and more houses in Levittown now where the owners are pushing up the roof of the house. I bet that is what they did to this one.
ETA: I do agree that it's too much money for a house with no basement.

Re: I love this house in L town
This house (while being overpriced)... gives me some great ideas on what to do with my house.
We are gutting out the kitchen in my house and ordered Kraftmaid cabinets... and the cabinets I got look VERY similar in color to these. We are also getting the same style and color backsplash.
Since we are also gutting out one of my two bathrooms... I wanted to get the same vanity (in the bathroom pictured with no window)... but Vanessa wasn't sure about it. Good to see it in a picture.
Vanessa wanted to get a tilting mirror similar to the one in the other bathroom with the window. While its a cool idea... its not as practical because you lose a lot of storage space.
Great house for ideas though!

I want to know why the ____ the taxes for this house are cheaper than my house.
I think i live in the area with the highest tax rate in Levittown.

Rich - goto Jembro in Massapequa - it is in the MAces shopping center on hicksville road - they have very inexpensive Vanities that come with a sink, faucet and plumbing
We paid $299 for ours seen below Image Attachment(s):

Re: I love this house in L town
We are trying to get something a little bigger. My wife likes the Kraftmaid stuff... and they make a 27" vanity (not as small as 24... but not as big as 30).
Maybe i'll ask her to swing by that store today. Are they open late?

Re: I love this house in L town
The house couldn't have been knocked down entirely or the taxes would be based on "new construction 2005" which is a much higher tax rate. They probably took off the roof and extended it and according to the neighbor's definition... that's knocked down.
They just dormered the inside and possibly extended it. The bathroom with no window probably has an extension (on the side of the house, maybe behind the kitchen to allow for a laundry room???) and they lost the window. My friend has this in her Levitt home.
It's a flip but not worth it. Definitely overpriced for the current market and time of the year. If you bought a small Levitt cape and hired your own contractor to do the same it would cost you less. They cleaned it up and put stock items... formica tops, etc.

House wasnt knocked down. Its by my parents I drive by it a lot. Its funny cause mike and I drove by it while it was for sale by Century 21. The side of it was caved in and covered in Plywood.
Its a very nice house though.

Rich - Not sure what time jembro is open to but they had a lot of vanities there and many larger sizes too

DUDE i lived there for 23 years. This house is on ranch and tanners. Its on the T street. So it faces Tanners. Memorial is on ABBEY Lane. Abbey is OFF of Ranch. If you were on the second floor you could probably see memorial but backyard im not sure.
