I love this restaurant...

The West End Cafe in Carle Place

I used to go there all the time years ago so when DH asked me where I wanted to go for the anniversary/VDay combo meal - thats where I chose to go.

I had:
-A nut-crusted goat cheese salad with mesclun greens and raspberry dressing.
-Roasted chicken breast stuffed with rock shrimp and other stuff over broccoli rabe and mushroom ravioli in a wine sauce
-Diet coke (ok not exciting but why leave anything out)

DH had:
-French onion soup (the cheese was GRUYERE- which made me laugh from yesterdays onion soup cheese thread)
- a huge shell steak over mashed potatoes, mushrooms and string beans
- a really strong mojito

For dessert, we shared sorbet and fruit in a funky shell made from walnuts I think.

If any of you are looking for a great place to have dinner, it is one of the better funcky restaurants on LI and pretty centrally located in Nassau. We loved it!

It's even better when you get there for the early bird-(app, entree, and dessert for I think 26.95 unless they upped the amount...) which I think is until 6:30...

love it there! that's where we had my SILs shower... i always reccommend it!

I always hear great things about this place. I actually got a gift cert. for xmas there, I'm excited to try it out
