I made my first Ebay sales this week...
I am just so excited because I was going to goodwill or give away my daughter's Christmas dress and shoes from last year, but I decided to take a shot at Ebay. I sold the dress for $56 and the shoes are now up to $21! I'm going to start emptying out the house!

Re: I made my first Ebay sales this week...
it's fun! I once sold a USED sweater for $51- I don't even think I paid that much for it
I try and sell a few things every week- it gives me extra spending money for the month - and my Dad and inlaws both moved and gave me all there stuff to sell

It was an American Girl holiday dress that was originally about $89 and worn only once by my daughter for Christmas last year (yeah, I'm crazy), and Stride Rite shoes that match it which I bought for about about $35. I was going to give the dress away and goodwill the shoes. I am so glad I didn't because I made about $72 after all the Ebay fees (which are minimal). I am so motivated now to get rid of all the extra stuff in my closet that has barely been worn! I just listed a brand new pair of boots that I bought last year and meant to return but never did. I have so many things like that!

If you just go to Ebay and click on "Sell" it takes you through step by step.
I'm not sure exactly what the fees were - but I paid about $9 to list and sell both items.

I have recently started selling stuff on ebay too-- and sometimes stuff goes, but other things I have had to list time and time again-- and I can't get rid of them.. however, I will continue to persevere!!

How much does it cost to put things up for sale? I have so much stuff I want to get rid of, but I don't know how to start selling anythingon Ebay. Is the price you have to put out worth it?

it's a couple of bucks for each listing. Then if you use paypal, they take a small percentage for each transaction-- but it's really not much.
The first time I posted stuff on ebay-- the whole process took me a long time to get my listings up-- it's not as fast as craig's list which I have done before-- but, your market is national, as opposed to local-- therefore, it's a better chance of selling.
Try it once with one listing and see what happens-- it's fun when you get a bid, and of course when you sell!

It's great when something sells for more than you thought it would! The fees to list an auction totally vary- it depends on every little feature you add to your auction. There are some ways around it- like with the photos, they charge you .35 for each addt'l. picture you list but if I want to list a few pictures I use my own web host(photobucket) and don't pay extra for that.

Re: I made my first Ebay sales this week...
I just started doing selling on ebay also!!!!!
It was great!!!!!!
We made $400 off of things we weren't using anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sold DH's guitar and amp (which he bought 2 years ago b/s he wanted to take lessons (ummmm - 2 years and THREE lessons later and the thing was sitting in our spare bedroom)! I also sold a Tassimo coffee cappuccino maker which I bought, used and didn't like! I hated staring at the thing taking up my counter space!
Congrats to you also!!!!!!!!!!!!!
