i may be joining you girls here..

well, let me give you all some background on who i am 1st.. my name is kristen, i have a 4yr old daughter from a previous relationship. i am getting married in february and FH and i decided we wanted to start TTC around 6 months after the wedding.. which would be next summer sometime.

so anyway, i went to my regular dr yesterday because ive been having pain in my lower left side of my stomach along with low back pain. well, after she examined me and got some history on my cycles and stuff she said she thinks i have PCOS.... so she referred me to an endocrinologist. i had cysts in the past that i guess i was able to shrink with a BCP.. i asked if she could just RX me one again.. but she said she would really like me to see the endo because they may RX something different.

i am really new to this whole thing, being that i am not really TTC yet.. but i am worried that when we do really start we will have lots of trouble. to everyone else on this board..

I have been told I have PCOS. Are you ovulating?

Also, did your doctor say that the lower back pain is being caused by PCOS or cysts?

i have no idea if i have been ovulating.. my periods have been so screwed up the past year though, so probably not. no, the back pain she thinks is muscular, so she gave me an RX for an xray.. sorry i didnt mention that in the OP. thanks for the hug,

if your periods are irregular its possible its PCOS but it could be other things too. BCPs would mask PCOS.
I am sure when you see an RE he/she will give you the answers you need so you can be successful with TTC next year!

The girls on this board are fabulous. It was a select few who told me that, based on my symptoms, I might have PCOS. They were right.

I'm just now beginning the journey of TTC, I'm about to begin seeing an RE to help. According to the Clearblue monitor, I haven't ovulated in over 6 months.

Hi. When you do TTC, I truly hope you never end up on the IF board, but if you do. There will be people here for you.

I have PCOS and became pregnant without help early this year. It isn't impossible to conceive naturally with PCOS, it just makes it harder. There are lots of options out there for girls like us.

Good luck with your wedding, happy planning and may your stay on the TTC board be short when your time comes.

Lots of women with PCOS conceive. We just need a little help. Your doctor is right for getting the testing done now. It took a long time for me to get through all my testing. I started before the wedding as well and finally got the ok to try 3 months before I walked down the aisle. If I had waited to start testing I would still be testing now instead of being pregnant. It is scary and at times it may seem like it is not going to happen. But find a doctor you trust and ask lots and lots of questions. Good luck and I hope you have a short ttc journey when the time is right.
