I may have to cancel my son's party

Over the last few days, my sons sensory issues have gotten worse. Especially with loud noises.. I booked his birthday party at a play place that is rather loud because it is open to the public during parties. I tried to take him there yesterday and within 10 minutes, he had lost it. I put a $100 deposit down on the place and the party is almost 2 weeks away. I have been emailing them to see if the one area can have the music turned down. I know there is no control over the noise of the guests.. I can book it at another place that will cater to his needs, but I can't do it unless I can get the deposit back from the other place. Has anyone had a problem like this? Do I have a prayer that I will get at least some of my money back.... It was like someone flipped a switch on him one day... It is hard... I will have to just eat the deposit and have a party at homeChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I don't know what the "law" is on refunds, but maybe you can appeal to the manager's sympathy. Why don't you call them and explain your son has a disability and be honest and tell them what the problem is. See if they can either work with you to make it an accommodating environment or give you at least some of your money back. Sometimes honesty works best... good luck!

Exactly what I would do/say (above post) I wouldn't wait too long since two weeks away.

I went there today and the manager was very sympathetic... I got my refund with no problem... I was ready to get a $100 worth of open play cards and was going to sell them!!! He understood completely....
