I need a good ELA lesson for an observation.
I teach kindergarten. My principal said "I don't want your typical read aloud" I want something fun.
My class is reading simple books and knows many sight words. I was thinking of maybe doing a word family activity.--I don't know!
Any suggestions??
Thanks so much!

I have a really cute inference lesson that I have used with 1st grade...it is not saved on my computer, but I can send it to you tomorrow if you would like

What about a sight word sort? You can base it on letter sounds? or sound conversations?
Or a writing assignment based on a picture that they see using your word wall? Make your focus on descriptive words.

Something hands-on. Maybe you can write words on cards and laminate it. They can make sentences? I have my middle schoolers do that with more complex sentences and they love putting sentences in order!
I teach older kids, so it might b ea little too advanced.
Good luck though!
