i need a HSG.. can you recomend where to go?
Hi ladies..
went to my OB last night to see what is up .. he wants to start taking baby steps and have me get a HSG.. more so because we think there might be scar tissue left from the MC..
now my question is.. i know you have to go to a lab/radiology dept.. but does it matter? is this a test that i should make sure i find a great place to do it at? like at a hospital ?
i thank you for your help!

Deanna,
Your dr.'s office should be able to make some suggestions. Then check the suggestions with your insurance company to make sure who they cover.
Take advils/tylenol a hour before and after the HSG, it can be painful for some.

Deanna...I had mine two weeks ago and I went to Nassau Radiology off of Hempstead Tpke. They were so so great there and it was a breeze.
I took 2 motrin 2 hours before, 2 more 1 hour before and they gave me two more after the test. I was also taking doxicycline for a few days before since the test does have a chance of infection. I had a little cramping but no worse than AF cramps.

yea , he said to go to the hospital but i wanted to maybe go closer to my house.. so thats basically why i am asking..
but ill do whatever it takes!!

Deanna, my RE office had me do it at North Shore Hospital but then again they are a north shore office to. Def take something for the pain. It kinda hurts. best of luck!!!

MY RE's office did it at Mather Hospital (and it was done by my RE).

I had mine at Nassau Radiological. Defintely take the motrins and your doctor will have you take an antibiotic. I'm also glad I had water and some pretzels with me...oh, and my own pads.

I went to the Nassau radiology located at 230 Hilton Avenue
Hempstead
They were great there!

I also went to Nassau Radiology, at the Lake Success location. They were great. I had no problems or pain.

I go to an RE and they scheduled it at he hospital when he would be there to do it. Not sure though....  I know certain RE's do them-but maybe they don't have to, lol!

I went to Zilka Radiology in West Islip. The staff there was great and so was Dr. Zilka. I had no pain at all.
