I need a walk-in doctor located in or near Centereach
Can anyone help? None of the ones I know of accept my insurance, and I don't know how to search for a walk-in on the insurance website.

You could try calling a regular doctor. When I had bronchitis last month I called and got a same day appt. What insurance do you have? What symptoms? When I was sick, since bronchitis is viral he didn't even give me any antibiotics since they wouldn;t help. Feel better!

Re: I need a walk-in doctor located in or near Centereach
I was told by a Dr. last week that I have the flu (without an examination, just an opinion based on my symptoms). I had a high fever for 3 days, aches and pains, really bad headache... around day 4-5 I got a really bad cough. LAst night, which was day 5, I think my fever came back. I know there is nothing they can do but tell me to rest and drink, but I just got worried that the fever was coming back. I stayed home from work today to rest. Last week I worked through my fever for 3 days last week. Even if it was bacterial, I can't take anti-biotics... so I guess there is really no point in me going, the reason I havent been to the doctor since Jan 2003.

Re: I need a walk-in doctor located in or near Centereach
there's one by the middle country library that I went to (on eastwood) but I would NOT recommend them! It was totally scary!
feel better!
PS- the one in the Pathmark shopping center did not take my insurance also..... they refused to answer my question about the insurance when I first got there and told me to just sit down and wait my turn.... 45 minutes later the receptionist called me up and asked me for my insurance card- which I gave her and she tossed it back to me saying that they don't accept that insurance! Hello- that is why I wanted to ask you before I waited so long!

Your right if its the flu there is nothing they can do I think. The best thing for you is to rest and get plenty of fluids. You may have gotten the fever again because you didnt rest from the beginning. I would just take it easy, lay down and stay hydrated. I hope you feel better soon!

That sounds like when I had bronchitis. I had a fever for over a week. It just ran its course, but took about 3 weeks to feel all better.

Re: I need a walk-in doctor located in or near Centereach
I have been calling doctors all day (that I found on my insurance website) and they all say they don't accept my insurnace!!! I called work and we have something called Health Advocate and they did all the work and found an appointment for me, but I have to wait until tomorrow.
