i need advice!!!!! re: cbefm and Opk's **UPDATE**
so, this is my first month using CBEFM. I am day 18 and still no LH surge, so I didn't know until today that it will stop asking me for sticks because I have gone through 10 sticks for the month. I thought it would keep asking me until it got a surge. So should I get OPK's now and use them? Last month I am speculating that I O'd on day 19, I am cd18 today. I wasted my FMU today peeing on the stupid CBEFM stick because I assumed that the machine would ask me for one this morning. WHAT SHOULD I DO?????? should I use the OPK's 2x a day, 1 in the am and one in the afternoon? should I just do afternoon? i am confused loL! HELP!

Wait, are you sure your CBEFM is no longer asking you to test. I may be wrong, but from what I remember the CBEFM makes you test for 20 days your first cycle. Are you using someone else's monitor? If so, have you properly reset it? I know they have a great helpline you can call that actually helped me on a few occasions (800)321-3279

I called the helpline this am, they said it asks for 10 sticks a month. It's a new monitor. I am going to use opk's now for the next week: test at 4pm today b/c I had to hold my urine for 4 hours, and then fmu starting tomorrow and for the next 6 days. Does that sound right?

Wait I have the same monitor and don't remember it stopping at 1o sticks?? I do remember testing forever the first month. I am cycle day 10 right now and it just asked me to start testing today... it knows me by now (-: There are times I pee on the regular OPK too at the same time it's real fun! Yes you should continue but you may O later than day 16 just in case... Good Luck!

so this morning, the machine asked me for a stick!!!!!! I spoke to 3 people at the helpline yesterday who gave me incorrect information. I am so ******!!! So i guess you ladies were right: it will keep asking me until it detects LH. I am going to call there tomorrow and give them hell! I can't believe this. It didn't ask me for a stick yesterday I assume because I woke up 5 minutes late and missed the window to test.

I think that's exactly what happened, you missed the window. But it should have a few hour window, I'm assuming you woke up 5 minutes after the time window elapsed and not give minutes after the time you have it set to start at. It will keep asking you to test until it detects the surge because the monitor has to get used to your cycles.

Well I'm glad to hear you figured out what the problem was because you really made me  with that one. I was 99% that I continued testing for a long time the first month on the CBEFM. You do have 3 hours before and 3 hours after you set your window (for a total of 6 hours) but if you miss it the monitor does revert to just being a low fertility day symbol. Sorry to hear the helpline was of no help.

i used an opk yesterday which was - so i am not too worried now. i guess it didn't mess up the machine. just upset that 3 people at the helpline didn't know what they were talking about. Yet I was able to get the right answers from you guys!! Thank god for this website!!!
