I Need Good Ideas Re: Kindergarten Birthday Party at School That Doesn't Allow Food
My daughters school says no food allowed for birthday parties. Somehow, I want her to have some sort of a party at her school, especially since we aren't celebrating her birthday for over a week later with just family at American Girl. What are some good suggestions that you've done if you've been in this situation?
TIA

Maybe you can ask the teacher if you can send in a craft project for the kids. There's to a of things on Oriental Trading.

I would do a fun craft project and maybe a small gift bag with some fun inexpensive non foid items (stickers, balls, erasers, pencils).

Would check out simple crafts On oriental trading I personally like the photo magnet craft (fall theme maybe) have clear plastic favor bags on hand with a cute birthday label recognition on them have the kids do the photo magnet craft and place in the favor bag and tie with ribbon to bring home. This will probably be done during their snack time do you have to give them something quick to do. Also masks or cute hats to hand out to very one to sing happy birthday. That will also be a keepsake for them and I think cute to do. O.T has cute masks/hats too..

Send in a balloon artist or magician to the classroom if the teacher will allow it.

I don't know about your district, but ours they have a limited amount of time to do a birthday celebration, and it's usually done during snack time.
I would just get a simple craft or go in and read a book, and call it a day. No need to have a big elaborate thing IMO.

For my daughter we sent in "Prizes" for each of the kids at the teachers directions. We did the twisty straws that resembeled cupcakes from target party isle ($2 for 4) and mini pencils

We are allowed to come in and read a story together to the class. So, last year, ds picked out a book about a guinea pig, and I brought our into the class for the kids to pet and look at. It was a hit!

In my DS' class, the teacher has the birthday kid give a book to the class on their birthday and they do a special celebration with it.
The parent doesn't tell the kid the book and wraps it for them as well to bring in.
She said we could send goody bags as well, but they would be given out at the end of the day.

My son is in the allergy awareness class. I did a craft this year for his birthday. I got all of the supplies at Michaels, but AC Moore would also have it all. We got those spongy door hangers (like paper, but thickers and has a spongy feeling to it) and I got a tub of spongy stickers. The kids decorated their own door hangers and then sang happy birthday and had their usual snack. The teacher said it was a hit.

In our school we can't send food either. Their suggestions are sending in a goody bag for each child, you coming in to do a fun craft or picking a book to read to the class.

I'm going into DD class Thursday. I was given 20 minutes time total, lol. I'm reading a book, handing out Wendy's frosty coupon books for the kids.
