I need help with my Dining Room..
My house is an open floor plan (kitchen, living room, dining room, and playroom all on the first floor. We will be redoing the kitchen soon (hopefully), but the dining room is really bugging me..... It's hard to paint it because of the open floor plan.... I'm thinking, a burgandy scarf above the slider and burgandy chandelier shades... but from there I don't know.... HELP! Pics of my dining room...

Re: I need help with my Dining Room..
My house set-up is similar to that, the kitchen, living room, and dining room are all open. I love it open! But it can be hard to decorate. If you really want color, you can paint that wall that the china cabinet is on a nice burgundy color, and add a decorative post down the wall to seperate it from the living room.

thanks julz! I love the pic of Gizmo!
I love it open too, it's so nice with the kids, but it's hard to decorate!

Re: I need help with my Dining Room..
what about adding a corwn molding on the ceiling maybe to "cut" the room, perhaps a contrasting or darker color?

Re: I need help with my Dining Room..
I like Julz's idea but I would paint the wall with the French doors the deep red and then add similar accents around the room to tie it in...like the lamp shades you have and rug plus maybe something floral in the centerpiece. The scarf for the doors can be in a color also found in the rug or can match the window treatments in the other rooms to tie them together.
