I need OBGYN rec in Queens (or very close)
Looking for a dr who is very good, but also doesn't have a long wait time and will actually call you back (and doesn't take days and weeks to do so) when you request a call back bc you have some concerns, questions...
Thank you

Re: I need OBGYN rec in Queens (or very close)
My SIL's MIL and I think DH's cousin all see Dr. Nurenberg (I would have to find out the spelling). He is in Flushing I think by Flushing Hospital and delivers at North Shore.

Re: I need OBGYN rec in Queens or even Manhattan (or very close)
I'm in Howard Beach but most my dr's are in Forest Hills/Rego Park area or Manhattan so anywhere around there is fine, I would rather not go to LI bc I don't like to drive there but I will if it's not too far. I got one rec for an OBGYN in HB but I saw he has malpractice case pending or something like that so I don't feel comfortable going to him.

I just saw that. It said its from 2007 and its says its a Settlement: "A settlement is a payment on a medical malpractice action or claim settled out of court. It is not a presumption that medical malpractice has occurred. Claim settlements may occur for a variety of reasons which should not necessarily reflect negatively on the physician's professional competence or conduct."

Re: I need OBGYN rec in Queens (or very close)
I agree with Ang about the malpractice concern. Working in healthcare for many years, I know people often sue for all kinds of things..........especially if it has to do with some kind of loss that really was no one's fault and they are upset and angry.
That's a different thread for a different day though.
I was seeing Dr. Stephanie Buck-Haskin and I believe she has an office in Forest Hills. Wait time can be hit or miss because it's just her and if she has to deliver or deal with an emergency, waiting is what you are going to have to deal with.
I recently changed practices because I wanted someone closer to my home.

I live in Howard Beach too, but my OB is in Bayside and it is a group practice. A few of my friends go to Dr. Saad and like him.

Dr. Saad is in the same practice with Dr. Scarantino. Dr. Saad doesn't deliver babies anymore. I go to their long island office. Dr. Scarantino delivered my DD and I felt he truly did a great job.
I personally wouldn't give much weight to the issue of a malpractice settlement pending (I think a good number of medical professionals have them). In my professional experience (and as many non-lawyers can attest to as well) people sue for the most ridiculous stuff - and once a suit is filed it is a matter of public record forever. Also, many suits are settled simply because the cost to hire lawyers to actually litigate it outweigh the amount the defendant would have to pay to simply settle it (hence why people are sue-happy -- chances are they'll get something). Sad but true.
Not saying that's the case here but just throwing it out there.
FM me if you have any specific questions about these doctors. Good luck!!

Re: I need OBGYN rec in Queens (or very close)
Dr. Benjamin Goldman North Shore Womens Health 865 Northern Blvd Great Neck, NY11021 Phone: (516) 622-5100
It's a practice, but he actually works for the hospital - North Shore Manhasset.
Never, ever a wait (I waited for almost 5 minutes once in the 10+ years I've been going to him and he apologized profusely) and usually he comes to the waiting room to get you himself.
I moved to Holbrook and I refuse to leave his practice. Instead I drive 45 minutes to see him (a pain in the neck late in the pregnancy but worth it).
