I need some help--2.5 year old and running...

My DS is almost 2.5. When we go out, he either rides in the double stroller or if he walks he knows he must hold my hand. He is actually pretty good about this. BUT, when we play outside its a whole different thing. Yesterday we took a walk--I had the baby in a single stroller and he was pushing a toy, we came back, played sand table, chalk and then it was time to come in. When I told him it was time to come in he just bolted down the sidewalk of our street. This kid is fast----really fast. Obviously I caught him, brought him inside kicking and screaming. Once he calmed down I explained he shouldn't run away and that if he does we will have to come inside. This is the 3rd or 4th time this spring he has done this and I am just not sure if I am handling it right.

This is my biggest fear when DC#2 is born, how do you handle an active toddler and a newborn by yourself??????

Besides a leash, that is......
