I need some ideas or advice about Katie and tremors or shaking - I dont know what it is
The last few days Ive noticed that she keeps her arms somewhat extended and her hands/arms have slight tremors. She also keeps her legs extended.
Im really starting to get worried - is this normal? Or could it be something else? I searched online and all that did was upset me more...

Re: I need some ideas or advice about Katie
She's 5 1/2 months old. It's not all the time but I noticed it last night when she was laying on her back in the crib and then again when she was in her bouncy seat.

My DD is 5 months old too and I notice she does this when she sitting in her highchair. I haven't really noticed if she does it at other times, but maybe she does. I think its normal as they develop thier fine motor skills. If you think its more, go with your gut and call your pedi.

OMG Kathy-- Mikey does this too!! I just started to notice it. He does the same thing when his arms are openly stretched. I notice it when he is in his bouncer as well and when we are playing. I was thinking about calling the ped. but I'm going to be seeing him soon and figured I'd bring it up then.

My niece did that for alittle while too. It wound up being nothing. I would videotape her doing it so you can show your pediatrician.

Kevin used to do the same thing and that's what we did. Our ped. said it was just something so kids did.
Kevin would hold his arms staight out and then give a little jerk and shake a bit. It really freaked me out but it stopped pretty soon after he started doing it.

i totally agree it could be nothing but i would look into it. sometimes when they extend their arms and legs out in a tense position together, or rythymically it could be a seizure. next time she does it, put your hand on whatever is shaking if she stops it is probably NOT a seizure if she keeps going it might be. check it out with your pediatrician as well please!

Re: I need some ideas or advice about Katie and tremors or shaking - I dont know what it is
I called my ped and they didn't seem concerned. I guess it's pretty normal at this age. She also cut her 2nd tooth yesterday and just hasn't been herself with all the pain of teething.
Thanks girls for your help!
