I actually caught myself saying to Noah today..."I am ever so cross with you"

OMG!!! You can take the girl out of Long Island, and apparently you CAN take the Long Island out of the girl!!

I was meaning to ask you... how long have you been living in London? Do you speak with an English accent? I notice so many English words in your posts that it seems natural for you...
Come back to LI and join us all for cawfee!

I haven't heard someone say "cross" in SO long. I forgot it means angry.

Somehow, though, when a Brit says it, it sounds cool. If I said it, it would sound like I am a throw-back to the 1950's.

I moved to Manchester, which is about 200 miles NW of London, in 1999. I still have a LI accent, but probably sound quite mid-Atlantic. But I do use lots of words that are common here in my everyday conversations, so its all quite natural for me!

I have been back and joined several LIF girls for Cawfee and Pizza!!!

That's funny!

My dad was stationed at RAF Lakenheath shortly after my brother was born and we lived in Anglo housing in Thetford for 4 years. So my brother learned to speak over there, and we went to playgroup in the village with the English kids. When we moved back to the States, my family used to crack up when he'd say things like "Mum, can I have a bit of buttah?" or "Look at the lorry!"
