I need some tips for editing some pictures I took
I took some great pictures of the kids at the beach but I feel like they are not crisp. What things should I adjust with photoshop to get them to look crisp, sharp and a little more vibrant.

A levels & curves adjustment but be careful not to do it too much. I've seen some adjustments way out of whack lately.
Also with the unsharpen/sharpen mask - do not sharpen things like hair, grass or trees as it will look grainy.

You can try a High Pass Fliter
To make my colors pop I open my photos in a RAW editor(I am not sure what program you are using). But then I can mess with certain colors separately and I can also mess with Shadows and darks which really makes most pictures look great.
