What if you put together a photo book for her of all of her children and grandchildren. You could lable each picture with who is in the picture in a nice, large, easy-to-read print so that she can easily see/read who's in each picture.
I did this for my DH's grandmother when she was diagnosed with dementia and she really liked it. It was something for her too look at and also she was able to show it to her friends.
You can make one on Snapfish really easily and it doesn't cost much at all.

This is a GREAT idea!
A friend of mine did this for her father, she included old pics of him growing up, back in his military days, wedding pics.. then pics of him & his kids & grandkids.. all labeled like you said.. he was SO happy with it, she said he went around showing all the nurses who also got a kick out of seeing him back in his prime as well at seeing how proud he was of all his kids/grandkids.

yeah, the photobook is a great idea...she'll get a lot of use out of it and it won't "disappear" (unfortunately that can be the case in asst. living).
