I need to have Ryan's hearing tested
Can someone recommend a pediatric audiologist?
He had his EI evaluation this past weekend for his speech delay. He qualifies for services and I need to rule out any hearing issues.

last time I did that I got a Dr. Dh and I didnt care for. and I LOVE my PED.

EI didn't do a hearing test? When my son did it they tested his hearing to make sure that wasn't the cause of his speech issues

I just had one done for my son for the same reason. We used Long Island ENT and saw Dr. Joseph Anticaglia, he was so very nice and awesome with my ds. We went to the office in Plainview and they have an audologist there on staff as well who performed the hearing test. So very nice! If your interested fm me and I can give you the numbers to his offices (he has three).

I took DS to Syosset Speech and Hearing on Jericho Tpk. They have audiologists there and I also had a speech evaluation by a SLP (it is owned by a husband/wife team of SLPs, I had the husband, Dr Podwall) Good place, the people were great with DS!

We used Little Village - Hagedorn in Seaford when my son had ST, but I'm not sure where you are.

She recommended not going through EI and just asking my ped. for one or finding one to go to. I don't remember 100%, but something about that the EI one is just for the testing. If he did need additional help and there was a hearing problem, I would have to go to someone else for that. So that way, I am only seeing 1 Dr. Hope that makes sense.
Thank you everyone for the recommendations! I just switched pediatricians, so Ry has not been to the new guy yet, and I wanted to take care of this asap instead of waiting until his first well check appointment.
ETA: I'm in Patchogue, so I would rather Suffolk, but I will travel farther if I have to.

i went to the one that is in lij schniders hospital (actually located next door). how old is your ds? we also just had a e.i. eval and no services for us.

Shorty's mom works for an audiologist in the Smilthtown area. We took Cole there and were happy with her. We also took him to the audiology center at Schneider's. I can FM you more info you'd like.

DS had to have a repeat hearing test and we went to Stony Brook and their audiology department was great! Very friendly and nice.

Ryan turned 2 in January.
He had an eval in October and did not qualify, but this time he did, and I knew he would.

There's an audiology office in Port Jeff right down road from Mather and St. Charles. When we had DS' speech evaluated they also checked his hearing. They were very friendly there.

I used Suff hearing and speech in East Islip. I thought they were great, very nice and patient with my ds. If you need the number fm me and I'll get it.
