I need to know if anyone is this anal

OK - you know when you save your docments in folders on the computer?

I can't have any "loose" documents. Everyone needs a folder, even if its one document in a folder. I will have folders within folders because I can't have loose documents, unless they all have the same theme. So lets say I have a folder titled "Autism" - unless all the documents in that folder are on the same topic of autism, they need their own seperate folders - information, eudcation, law, etc.

My documents are so micromanaged, its insane.

Right now, my flash drive has tons and tons of loose documents out of folders because I need to designate specific categores for some of them, I am losing my mind whenever I go in there to pull out other information.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Or have I completely gone off the deep end?

yes it is anal and yes i am the same way

actually my goal is to have the least amount of things on my desktop possible. its a sickness and i have to redo it every single morning because something about restarting it spews forth some things from my folders!!!

I don't have all that many documents on my computer but my law school ones are under Law School, then broken down semester, then class

However, my picture folder is insane because I am constantly taking pictures with my digicam, and saved a lot of pictures when planning for my wedding.

I have a folder of pet photos, one of wedding stuff, one of "misc fun pictures" and one of "bags, purses and shoes"

the wedding folder is subdivided by attire, ceremony, DIYs, etc which are then further subdivided....

I hate having zillions of pictures all over and prefer them to be organized

So glad I'm not the only one.

I swear, you click on any of my folders, and you have to click and click and click on folder after folder until you finally get to something with content!!!!n

I am exactly the same way....
an easy example is a folder on Rocky,the family dog.
it broken down in years
then months
then weeks
no joke

I can relate to this!! My coworkers laugh when they use my computer to retrieve something. Folder, within a folder.....

Now I just need to harness this and bring it into my house

I am the SAME WAY...

for example, I have a file open whose path is:
F:\Directory\Agenda, Minutes, and Memo Archives\Agenda-Minutes-1995-2008\Agnda-min.08\SEC\Agenda 10-8-08

EVERYTHING, aside from Agenda10-8-08 is a folder.

OMG...you would have a heart attack if you saw my directories. They are all over and it's only through habit that I can find what I need not because they are in order. I am slowly getting them in order but I have 1000s of documents and it's a long slow process.

yes its anal...and i am guilty as charged. I am the same way, especially with pics and music too! I have folders in folders in folders. It makes it so much easier to find things when you are looking for them!

We have several shared directories at work, and I am always putting thinsg in folders. I can never find anything if it's loose. I would do it more, but I share with 2 people, and 1 is my boss, and I don't want her to think all I do all day is create folders for things!

My bookmarks are in folders too.

Seriously though, I am a folder creator too. You should see the folders I created during my wedding planning.

Yes Im that way....and my folders have folders and so on

Once when I left a job I was showing my replacement my folders and she was like holy crap you are organized!
