I need to quit drinking coffee but it is so hard!

I really need to stop the coffee for a couple of health reasons - but I feel like a smoker trying to quit smoking. It is so hard!!!! I've done it before for like 5 weeks, but then I start up with the "only one cup" - and then before you know it I'm back to Starbucks and everything else.

Has anybody else had to quit drinking it?

I had to and it was very hard. I went to decaf first then I just stopped. I have a cup once a month now if even. I just try and drink as much water as I can now.

I cut down from 3 cups a day to two initially, then after 2 weeks, to 1. That was hard--I had the worst headache for a few days. After that, I started drinking half-caff, then eventually wound down to decaf (I love the taste of coffee, couldn't cut it out completely).

i can't get rid of it completely. i'm a dunkin donuts fanatic but i get decaf when i go most of the time. if i'm working i'll make 3 scoops decaf one scoop regular. eventually i'll get rid of that one scoop i just can't yet!!

A co-worker of mine had to quit caffiene and smoking at the same time (something about the throat) and she had such a hard time. I would think maybe starting to cut back and then gradually giving it up might be better than trying cold turkey?
