I need to slim and tone my thighs! help!
I am lucky enough that when I gained weight it goes all over but as I get older I'm carrying it more like my Dad and it is going to my hip area and thighs. To carry my pregnancy weight my legs which used to be real slender from running Cross Country in HS and College turned into trunks and well now I'm not pregnant anymore and toning up everywhere else but Dh and I are going on a cruise in about 50 days and I would like to try to look my best for it. The other day my friend took a full length shot of me in a bikini with my son and I had never realized before just how much wider they have gotten and I would like to slenderize them even if it's just by a inch prior to this cruise if I can. My main problem is my inner thigh.
Any tips or ideas.. good tapes.. good exercises...
I know I said I ran in HS and College but honestly I hate running and have paid the price at the Hospital for Special Surgery on knee surgeries and have no desire to road or trail run and with living in Florida it is still too hot anyways.
Please help!

Do you like to walk? Walking for an hour a day, fast walking that is, is always great. Squats and lunges are great for getting your butt lifted and legs in shape. Also if you can get to the gym and get to a class, or get an aerobics tape - the more cardio and toning, the better.

Exactly. Cardio and weight training will get you results the fastest (combined with a healthy diet, of course). Make sure that you're doing total body weight training, and not just focusing on your legs. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolic rate will be, and the more calories your body will burn.......

I agree with the cardio and weight training, but the MOST important thing: the diet!
I had a personal trainer for years....three days a week, and hour each session. Anyway, for the first year I did everything he said, worked out with him, busted my butt...but no results. I watched my diet, didn't eat fats. etc. Finally, he told me to see a nutritionist because if your diet is not correct, all the work is futile.
So, turns out I was not getting enough protein. The nutritionist was fantastic, Dr. Wallman in Smithtown. Within a few weeks of following the guidelines, I had visable results! It's now years later, and I still average around 109 lbs. He didn't put me on a strict diet, he just took my body fat and weight, did a bunch of calculations to figure out how many grams of protein I needed to stay the current body weight and how many grams of protein I needed to drop fat. We also calculated how many grams of carbs and fats I needed for my goal. It also turned out that I wasn't eating enough fats.
Seriously, be sure you have a great diet, that can mean all the difference in the world.
