I need to vent about the news.....
I was just watching Channel 12 news while feeding my DS, and there was a segment on the relation between premature birth and autism. As the mother of a preemie who was born 10 weeks early, I was very interested and a little scared while watching the segment. It really didn't give much info, and so I decided to google premature birth and autism. NEedless to say there have been studies done and there is no definitive link between the two - so many other factors come in to play.
The media is really out of control.....the way they report things about these "studies" can make any parent go crazy. I just got over the fear of getting my child vaccinated bc of the supposed link between the two, and now they've got me thinking about this. I'm really tempted to write a letter to Channel 12 news....

I agree with you, it is out of control. And I would go ahead and write that letter. Give them a little education!

I just flat out don't watch the news anymore.
It's all about scare tactics, propaganda and Britney Spears.

That, and violent images. There's more violence on the evening news than there is in PG-13 movies!

Totally agree, and when it's a slow news day for violence, they bring up old scare tactics again and again.
