I never thought a puff and a wet Zwieback could bring so much joy...
ABBY FINALLY PUT FOOD IN HER MOUTH!!! Those of you who follow my "My kid doesnt feed herself table food or anything edible" posts will share in my glee. This is a big day.
Abby and I were fortunate to have lunch with Aunt Browneyedgirl and Aunt BeautyQ when all of a sudden she put a puff in her mouth. I got so excited and clapped and "yay"ed too much that she pulled it out. Then I had given her half a Zwieback at Costco. She held onto it and I forgot about it. By the time I got home and took her out of her car seat, there were crumbs on her mouth and a wet half Zwieback in her lap. At that moment I again jumped for joy and then smacked myself for allowing her to have something she could have choked on while I was driving and couldn't monitor her.
Let's hope that this is the beginning of good things to come and that she will enjoy solids that she should have been eating months ago as I have cased out the chicken nuggets that do not have dairy in them and I just want to BUY BUY BUY!!!!

yeah abby!!!!  i'm so glad i was able to witness your special moment! 
pretty soon you'll be sharing mommy's lunch and stealing her ice cream (non-dairy of course--ices maybe?) like DS did today!

It's a cross between a cracker and a piece of toast. They have them with the baby food. SOme of the older generation even said they couldn't believe they were still around for our kids.
I had no idea til the ped told us to get some for DS.

Marlo, she is still dairy free but we will see about the transition tomorrow at the doctor. Lord I hope to G-d she is not destined for alive without milk products. First alife without Fortunoff, now this? As my mother would have said in yiddish "That would be a shondah!!!"

Side Note: Where did you find Zwieback? I thought it was discontinued so I have been making it myself and it is a PITA.

Its Gerber Zwieback. They may not be called by that name but they are the same thing. Could be called teething biscuits.
