I officially HATE maternity clothes
I swear I'm getting more and more fustrated as the weeks go on. NOTHING covers my stomach, nothing fits me and why is it so hard to find a nice, stylish outfit???? Who designs this C**P?
I went to Destination Maternity today and as usual it was a waste of my time. The sweaters were skin tight, the pants too short and the skirts.....don't get me started. I walked out in tears. I have 7 weeks to go and nothing that fits me. I'm getting so big that even my Dh's shirts don't fit me.
I have 3 "fancy" occasions coming up and I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to wear. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..........
And please don't suggest Gap or Old Navy - tried that already. I'm getting desperate enough to want to go to Woodbury and hit Pea in a Pod..................

Re: I officially HATE maternity clothes
I have a dress that may be good for you- it is my sil's- it is cute. She is tall.
I know how you feel by the way, and I am not spending any more $ on maternity clothes!

Re: I officially HATE maternity clothes
I've tried the outlets, JCPenney, Sears.....you name it, I've been there.
Its awful - side pockets on everything (why???) and the skirts are never long enough right along with the shirts and sweaters. Ummm, helllllooooooooo........tall people have kids too.
Its horrible - I'm miserable over this.

Re: I officially HATE maternity clothes
I am sorry you are frustrated.
I recently went to a wedding and a girl was there who was about 8 months pregnatn and she looked gorgeous- I asked her if she was wearign a Maternity dress- she said no- she got it at Macys.
I am at teh beginning of my pregnancy (15 weeks) and I was just looking for a dress for an occassion. I was amazed to see how many boutiques and such had clotehs that I would consider maternity- empire waists with tons of fabric over the belly. I got a dress at Express which I could easily wear for another few months. They also had a lot of empire waist shirts with pleats and lots of fabric in the front.
Maybe you can try some non-maternity stores? Hope this helps.

Re: I officially HATE maternity clothes
Shellyesq has some good ideas!
I saw on ebay some very cute maternity dresses, some new with tags from places like pea in the pod and mimi maternity. Did you try checking it out?
I bought this dress in Rampage over the summer and my DH kept making comments that I should wear it when I get preggo
of course when you look for something like that, its always impossible!

Re: I officially HATE maternity clothes
Motherhood had great stuff...and it covered my huge belly...
I also bought that skin colored tank to wear under my shirts. I felt it held me in better...also bought at motherhood maternity. Image Attachment(s):

the dress i bought was EXACTLY like that. I found at least one in almost every store I looked- I even bought another one at Macys and one (that I wore) at Express.
