I don't think I like it Chat Icon

Im not a color person. I like beige. I'd paint the whole thing beige if I could. I got talked out of it and painted it yellow and Im not sure I dig it.

I actually like it. I love color, especially after we did our living room in brown tones, its so drab and I long for color! Live with it for a few days and maybe you'll change your mind?

I Like it too, but my kitchen is yellow Chat Icon (with navy and beige accents)
Can't tell how bright it is in the picture but I think if you put your window treatments up and decorate the walls, you'll love the cheeriness of it ...especially in the morning!

i like it too ( :

but most of my downstairs is painted a soft yellow. if oyu really are unhappy with it but want to compromise and keep yellow, i have a very soft yellow/buttery color called oklahoma wheat by behr. my dh hated yellow and HE likes it. if you ever want to stop by and see you are welcome to, and in wont be upset if you hate it!

but like its been said, live with it for a bit. youlll know by the 7th day if you walk in and it makes you cringe, then you should repaint! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Kristin I think it looks great. Once you put some stuff on the wall, it will break up the color a bit and won't look so bright and colorful. I love that color, I would put accents of reds, lime greens and oranges...a mexican theme. Man do I need a house!!Chat Icon

Re: I painted the kitchen and....

the old owners of our home had painted the hall yellow it was nice, but broke up the house so we painted over it. it was a bit softer than the one you painted. Perhaps if you repainted with white primer and then chose a softer yellow you would be happier.

I agree-I had a similar experience when we painted our home office- it was a bit darker than I'd pictured and I was like, Oh, what have I done! But once we put the room back together, put stuff on the walls and got curtains, it was SO much better and I fell in love with it.

Worse comes to worse, painting over is a PITA but not a huge expense.

I think it looks nice, especially with your new floor. I felt the same way though after I painted our spare bedroom yellow. It actually looks very similar to the color you used. I think ours was BM Hawthorne yellow or something like that. But after a while it grew on me. The bedroom also has it's own bathroom that I painted the same color and in such a small room I thought it was way too bright so I used "the woolie" roller to add some white to tone it down a bit. But, it doesn't matter now anyway. DH is actually upstairs right now repainting the room so it can become our nursery. Chat Icon
