I rescued a kitten, but can't keep it..

So sad. It is SOOO skinny!! I went out to walk my dog and it was laying in the grass. DH was just getting home and he picked it up and it bit him. When I held it..it seemed it was comfy. I brought it into our bathroom (because I don't know if it has fleas) and gave it tuna and milk. the poor thing was starving. It also had some gook in its eye and I took it out.

Unfortunately I can't keep it as much as I would like to. But. I am afraid because I am expecting and I can't have a cat here w/nails. Plus my dog would be so jealous.

I hate to have to bring it to a shelter, but I have no choice. I just feel good knowing that I gave it some food and shelter for a little while. Chat Icon Poor thing.

Reminds me of my cat that passed away...

That's very sad, please take it to a no kill shelter. Do not give it milk, because it can give them diarrhea, though! Good Luck & that’s great that you’re trying to do the right thing for it!!

I defenitely will. It wouldn't drink the milk, so we gave it water. I just feel so bad for this kitten. It's the cutest thing, but honestly I am so afraid to keep it. We had to put it in a box because it was stinking up the bathroom. Poor thing.

Check with Petco. The one in Commack always has cats up for adoption and I think the group is Heart and Soul (something like that). Maybe that group can take in the kitty. Good luckChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Awww, poor little guy. Please bring him to a no kill shelter. If you see the mother around, you can have her spayed and then released.

Please do not release that kitten back into the streets ( if you get scared or have a hard time finding an organization to take her). You did the right thing, have your DH handle it if you cannot. Or a friend or family member. Please go forward with the wonderful effort you already have done!!!

Found it. Maybe they can help you? They are at many petcos.

Or animal haven in Flushing?

Or Little Shelter in Huntington?

Any municipal shelter in NYC is a kill shelter until Mayor Bloomberg gets the bill passed. Please check with Petfinder.com to seek a no-kill alternative.
