I saw a dog locked in a car today in the Target parking lot
It was after dinner around 7 so definetely cooler than it was earlier in the day but the temp in my car still read 90 degrees.
I heard a dog barking as I putting my bags and kids in the car. I kept looking around to see if it was a car close by but didnt see anything. After I got in the car I decided to drive a couple of rows over and found the car...it was a little white dog staring out the window. The windows were cracked a smidge  Really, what would that do???
Anyway, I found a piece of paper in my car and wrote "I called the cops. You shouldnt leave your dog in the car in 90 degree heat ARSHOLE" and smacked it on the drivers window with tape...other people were looking at me but I didnt care. Than I found a Target employee standing outside the doors and told him to make an announcement over the loudspeaker that the arshole in the Nissan Pathfinder locked his dog in the car in the heat 
What are people thinking?

Good for you! It bothers me so much whenever I see this! Do people not know how quickly cars heat up? I left my dogs in the car today while I ran in to get bagels but the AC was on full blast for them. And even then I was only gone for maybe 3 minutes. And then there's people like this that barely crack their windows and you know they are probably in there for at least 15 minutes minimum. Unbelievable.

This makes me so mad! I am so glad you did something! Too many people just walk by and do nothing.
People don't realize that on a day as hot as yesterday, even with the windows cracked... a dog can suffer irreparable damage in less then 5 minutes. I don't know why anyone would want to do that to their dog

Im so glad you called the cops.
I almost did the other day, but when I went to the car, the AC was on for the dog., and the dorrs locked, so I felt better.

 great for you and for the littly guy.
i cannot for the life of me EVER think of leaving Jack in a hot car. Dogs have a FULL cost of fur ALL year. Summers must be ' ruff ' for them. I always say, our fur babies cant talk for themselves, so we need to always be aware of their needs.

I leave notes and call the police all the time . Even bought flyers on line that I now use.

Seriously...YOU wouldn't want to be locked in a car with the windows opened a crack in 90 degree heat would you?? Ugh people so so idiotic sometimes. I'm glad you did something, hopefully you made them think twice before next time.
