I should've cancelled my growth sono.

Thanks to the worrisome doctor at my practice, I had a growth sono at 35weeks and now, I have to go have non-stress tests AND biphysical profiles twice a week!

The baby measured perfectly normal on everything except weight (measured at 4 pounds .9 ounces and should've been around 5). Chat Icon I think by the end of this week, they'll need to do a stress test on ME!Chat Icon

My regular doctor, taking into account that with my first I was only a week early and she only weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces, smiled sweetly and said "I'm not worried about any of this, you just have small babies. Everything else points to a healthy baby and that's what matters." Unfortunately, her optimism doesn't supercede the decisions from Madonna's doctors so I still have to go twice a week. Oh well...

Hopefully I don't last the full 40 weeks and this will all make me laugh a lot very soon. I will be 37 weeks on Friday...I want to make it to 39 so the baby isn't considered "preemie" in weight, in theory that should get him/her to about 6 pounds!Chat Icon

My cousin in law delivered a healthy 40 weeker who weighed 5lbs and a few ounces. I agree that maybe you carry small babies-but at least they are monitoring you Chat Icon

I was 5lbs, 14oz...my former OB told me he was quite happy with a nice 6lb baby.

My neighbors kids were all around the 5 pound mark and they were all basically right on time..give or take a day or 2.

At least you know not to stress about baby's size, since you have smaller babies! I'm sure it's a pain and nerve-wracking, but at least you get the reassurance that all is well with baby every time you go! That's got to be a nice feeling.
