I spoke to my doctor today...
...because I had been so confused. He told me that the PG test was way too early to tell anything. So I asked why it was done at all - standard operating procedure when doing bloods. He also said that my progesterone levels were perfect and that I ovulated. I again asked why I needed to know this since my ovulation was never an issue. He said that they test to see if the levels are high enough, and I paraphrase "to accept a pregnancy." He then said that my levels were perfect and that 2 weeks from the test I should either be PG or get my period. It takes time. I guess knowing that my body is in good shape for pregnancy should be a relief and it is...until he said the one thing that we all hate to hear: "Leslie, you need to relax!!! Stress while TTC is a bigger problem than you think." Sadly, I know he is right.
AF should be here any minute now. Now I am thinking which ever linguist made up the word "relax" ought to be hung by his toenails.

Re: I spoke to my doctor today...
I agree about "relax" To give you some insight on the progesterone. progesterone is developed by the corpus luteum(the sac that hold your egg) Should you become pregnant your progesterone should stay high in order to develop you uterine lining to the proper thickness for implantation. It will then stay high until the placenta starts to do that job around 10-14 weeks. Not too sure that progesterone levels can tell wether you ovulated or not that can really only be seen by ultrasound. But, hey I'm not a dr! GL

It does take time, and this was your first "session" so IF it doesn't happen try to have confidence that it will soon. Easier said than done, I know.
But, in your next session make sure your doc DOES NOT play "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood as your mood music. You do not need that pressure.

I still say get a massage and go out to dinner and veg at home, or do whatever relaxes you, exercising, knitting, reading, whatever. Lots of dust!

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!
See, these are the little things they dont tell you. I am very appreciative and thankful for your offering of information, but I think it may have been more helpful to me to have heard this from the doctor or the nurse BEFORE the test, so I knew WHY a blood test was being taken in the first place. I could have avoided some crying and a phone call to the doctor who now thinks I am a looney tune. Not to mention a thread or two that didn't drive you all nuts!
As for Frankie Goes to Hollywood, I think its a sure thing that it won't be played. DH has a catalog of inappropriate songs he likes to hum. I wonder what he has planned next!

right .. I think the progesterone levels rise after ovulation typically so they use it as an indicator of ovulation.
