I started my 5 and 1/2 MOS old DD with Gerber Stage 1 PEACHES today and...EDITED, please read again to all those who reponded before
She hated it! Is it this hard for everyone the first time you tried to use a spoon and feed your child? I guess I have to realize this is a whole new world for babies. I got maybe 4 or 5 spoonfuls in her mouth with a drop on each spoon. I guess I will try again tonight, any advice?
Thanks!

How did she do with rice cereal and oatmeal? Maybe the sweetness threw her off? GL!

I've been trying for about a month now feeding DS, and he clenches his mouth shut.
I tried applesauce first, then peaches, and recently bananas. I would have thought he liked bananas over peaches, but nope!
I found that DS wouldn't take the peaches plain, so I mixed in a little of the oatmeal into the container. I think it took some of the tart-ness out of it.

I was just going to suggest mixing with the cereal.

DS had no problems eating cereal, but the first time I gave him fruit (homemade applesauce) he made the biggest rejection face. It took a couple tries for him to get used to fruits. Now he inhales his fruit!

I would try again but with sweet potatoes or applesauce. Wait a couple of days to see if there is a reaction though. I've read a lot of kids don't like peaches. My DD hated peaches, she wouldn't even touch the peach puffs.

Thanks for your reply so far ladies. My DD has been having rice cereal in her bottles since 6 weeks due to reflux.
Since she barely took to the peaches this AM..should I try again this evening or shall I try applesauce?

I did veggies first (sweet potatoes, then sweet peas, carrots, then green beans). Then with fruits I did bananas, applesauce, pears, peaches.
I think the blander the better in the beginning...if you stick with fruits, maybe bananas would be your best bet.

She's had peaches twice without any luck? As long as she's had it multiple times without any reaction, I might try applesauce first.

I have to say I had a good eater, loved cereal and her fruits but peaches was one she always turned her face on or made a face. I choose other fruits...applesauce, bananas, and I tried again with peaches. Eventually she ate it.
