I stopped BF'ing and Feel SO GUILTY
I couldnt take not knowing how much he was getting and constantly trying left boob, right boob and then formula
Turns out the baby gained almost 1lb in 2 weeks, so it must have worked. However, I stopped bfing on Monday!!
I feel so guilty!! Please tell me it was okay to stop

Do you want to keep doing it? I don't think at this point it is too late to start back up.
But if you don't want to do it then there is nothing to feel guilty about. A happy mommy is a happy baby. Every ounce of breast milk that he got has helped. You need to do what is right for your family.

When did you stop? Are you still lactating? You could probably start again, if you supplement and keep at it for a few days you can probably carry on!
Of course it is okay, you need to do whatever you feel is best for your baby...
I think for lots of women the feeling of being out of control is really scary, we are so used to being the boss!!

I think many Breast Feeding moms are concerned if their baby is getting enough milk in the beginning. It is NOT too late to continue Breast Feeding, our bodies are amazing in what they can do! You obviously were doing great job being she gained a 1lb

I agree, I was a little worried in the beginning too cause you aren't sure how much milk your baby is getting, but if she's latching on right and isn't crying while you are feeding her, she's probably getting enough. I would still try to BF. The longer you do it, the more milk comes in too.

Don't stop if you don't want to. You can still rebuild your supply!
It's OK to question whether or not your baby is getting enough when your breastfeeding, but obviously she is, so go ahead and breastfeed if that's what you want to do.

Re: I stopped BF'ing and Feel SO GUILTY
You could definitely start again! If you want to maybe you could pump & bottle feed so you know exactly what DC is getting. You shouldn't feel guilty though. It's all a confusing guessing game in the beginning. BFing or FFing...I'm sure you are doing a great job as a mom either way!

Re: I stopped BF'ing and Feel SO GUILTY
I just stopped recently too- Matty is almost 6 months- I had to start medication. I feel very sad and guilty about it but I had to start feeling better- and me being well is more important for him than to continue on BM. If you were constantly feeling anxious about his well being then you tried to make the best decision you could for your baby- that shows you are a loving and caring mom!

Re: I stopped BF'ing and Feel SO GUILTY
Dont' let anyone pressure you into doing it!!
If you don't you don't. Big deal!!
Don't feel guilty at all!!!! You must be happy in order to raise a happy child. I was soo upset while doing it and then when I stopped felt soo guilty. But it was the BEST decision I could have ever made for my entire family.
FM me if you want to talk

DON'T FEEL GUILTY JEN!!!!! And don't stat back up if you don't want to.
You spent sooooo much time nursing him, you weren't enjoying him at all.
I felt so bad you were tucked away in your room all day, we never got to see you or the baby.
Do what make you comfortable, not what others think is right.
And not always does BFing make a healthy baby, as evidenced in our own family......
I love you and Christopher, you made the right choice.

Re: I stopped BF'ing and Feel SO GUILTY
my DS is 3 weeks old, I couldn't stand not know what he was getting too ... I ended up pumping all his bottles and I try to latch him once a day, but he gets really frustrated with it, which I hate seeing.
I have been supplimenting with formula at night (because I am too exhausted to pump in the middle of the night).
But I do like the fact that with pumping I know exactly what I am producing and what he is getting.
My son was born at 6 lbs. 6 oz. and is already up to 7 lbs. 13 oz. in 3 weeks - so he is definitely doing well and gaining.
Don't feel guilty, it is a very frustrating process sometimes.

Re: I stopped BF'ing and Feel SO GUILTY
I stopped at 7 months because my baby wasnt gaining weight and he has bad reflux issues. honestly I felt really guilty about it but in the long run it was a much better decision for my family and him( he dropped down from the 95th to the 25thpercentile at one point) I just wasnt enjoying my baby, i was always worried about how much he was getting and always worried about his reflux and that something I may have ate( dairy or whatever) was causing him pain.
After i stopped my life was just so different. I gave my best and so did you thats all you can really hope for...
