I think I'm going to have some xanax for breakfast...sleep help please!!!
DD has always been not a great napper...for the past few weeks I thought she was dropping her AM nap bc she was screaming through her first nap....she was also getting about 6 teeth at once, including two molars so I thought it could be that as well..Anyway the other day I tried giving her one nap and she napped from 11-12 and had to go down again at 3:30ish for another one and she went down without a peep...so she obviously still needs that second nap...I tried yesterday to give her one nap at 12:30 but she still needed that second nap! She's also been still screaming during her naps, so sometimes I just lose my patience an rock her and she'll sleep on me...I KNOW BIGGGGGG mistake..but sometimes she just NEEEDS to sleep to get through the day bc she becomes a nightmare if she doesn't...now this AM the child that normally sleeps 12 hours+ a night woke up SCREAMING at 5:45.....I let her CIO for a bit but she never went back to sleep and was just screaming non stop...the second I walk into her room, and she sees me, she's all smiles and says "hi" I have no clue if this is some form of separation anxiety, teething, or something else...at least she was getting her sleep at night, now if she's not sleeping 12+hours at night and not napping during the day she WILL be a lunatic...this child needs her sleep she's a different child when she sleeps well and she doesn't...
She's going to be 16 mos in a week...what the hell is going on!??!?!?!?!?

OOh boy Jen, this sounds like a tough one I'd start with the easiest and guess teething, can you look at her gums for any white spots, she still may have one or two pushing through??
Also can you try to push her midday nap just a bit later, say 1pm or so???? (Assuming she's had lunch by then and is going down with a full tummy)??
I'd use all the tools you can - white noise machine, room darkening shades, elevate one side of her crib, the WORKS!
Hopefully it's temporary!!!

I have been having a lot of difficulty this past week. Last night Sash was up 3 times and was up for the day at 5 30. I am f*cking tired.
In my experience thus far-- teething just completely f*cks with sleep and can make you think they are ready for sleep changes or somethign else is up. But it's those damn teeth!
I am just going to solider through it.

She def has some more that I think are popping through...BUUTTTTTT the thing is she'll fall right asleep on ME for a nap if I rock her...so that's whats killing me...do I do it bc of her teething, or am I totally going to create a monster that will not go down for a nap unless I rock her...do rules go out the window when she's teething..I do that when she's sick, but thats a given.
we have room darkening shades and the noise machine on for all naps and sleep...
I moved her nap yesterday to 1 and she was beyond exhausted by 4:30 5ish and yesterday was just a busy day and we put her down like 30 minutes later than normal so she was beyond overtired as it is....I just hope this morning was a fluke..and I'm already dreading her naps today...
