I think I'm stranded at home today...
Or at least this morning...
DH told me before he left at 4 this morning that our steps are a solid sheet of ice. We have no hand rails, and lots of cement steps.... 
also, he tried starting our car w/ 4 wheel drive, and it won't start.... Then he tried de-icing the door to our other car, and said it looks pretty frozen up.... The only other option was to drive him to the train in his car, and then drive back. I would have done it, but that would have meant having to climb the icy steps back up home by myself, and I'm too afraid....
I'm not being silly with the steps thing, right? I am almost 8 and a half months pregnant, and the thought of slipping and falling at this point terrifies me.... I'm enough of a spaz as it is without all the ice....

i wouldn't risk it if i were you. I just spoke to my dh who is already at work and he said there is black ice everywhere.
Why not take the day off to relax?

i say go ahead and relax!! dh called me as well at 6 am to wake me up and he said the whole front yard is ice, man is he right, it just took me like 10 minutes, to get to the car to heat it up, now just waiting a couple then i am going to venture to work..... i wish i were you today!!!

STAY HOME. I would but they would just come get me since I work 1 mile away. You don't want to risk it and they'd feel awful if they insisted and something happened. We are at least allowed to leave at our own will/discretion...so that's cool. Also, I fell on my arse last night WITH a handrail...ouch. I just sat there terrified, in the ice.

No, stay home!! I was 7 months pg this time last year and we had a decent amount of snow and everytime it did snow I would take my time getting in. I would just call and let them know I would be late their was no way I was rushing to get in at 9.

Absolutely stay home- you are NOT being silly about the steps.
Yesterday, DH came home early specifically to dig out my car and plow the sidewalk/driveway so I could get out today (I'm in MD, so this storm was over for us yesterday early afternoon). He busted his @ss at LEAST 4 times and that's with heavy duty snow boots and NO belly throwing him off balance....
Everytime I tried to come outside to talk to him he'd yell at me to get in before I fell.

Hope you stayed home! DH made me stay home, b/c when he was on his way home from work last night (at 11:30pm) he said he didn't want me out driving!
No complaints from me....there is plenty of stuff here to keep me busy!! Let the cleaning begin!
