I think it might shower in Queens today

I have a feeling that today is my shower. Since being laid off and really not that busy, things aren't getting by me that fast. Last week my mom's friend invited to take us all out to dinner because she won money in AC. She's unemployed as well and should be using the money for her bills. So that kind of got me suspicious. I'm worried that today is my shower because, I literally stalk my 2 registries - BRU & JCP. My BRU registry had a lot of items and there has only been 22 items that have been bought. JCP registry is a small one. What worries me is that since I'm now unemployed and not having a shower at work, there's going to be a lot more items for DH and I to buy for DD. I still haven't received my first pay from unemployment and I haven't received my severance check from my old job. No matter what, I'm grateful and thankful to everyone's generosity, but I'm just worried. If today is my shower, then I'll re-check my registry and only buy things that we absolutely need. If anyone needs an idea on what to get us for christmas, they can buy something off the registry. I just feel horrible feeling like this.

Maybe you will get gc's! Since people know you are unemployed maybe they feel that will help more!

Honestly? At the beginning you only need some clothes, a carseat, a little stroller and some place for DC to sleep and bottles (if you are using them) and you'd be fine
