I think NOW I've seen it all!Swine Flu Pandemic related

No joke. I just got a fax from one of our customers and they want to know our written plan regarding the Swine Flu is in case it becomes a pandemic this comming Winter.

They want to know what safeguards we have in place regarding our employees etc.

I hope this isn't a trend Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: One of our employees went on vacay in Mexico willingly during the height of all of this. They had the 100%
support from the family that owns our shop!

Your thread topic made me think of Phoebe from Friends (There is an episode where an older women's spirit enters hers and when she goes to Ross' ex-wife's same sex marriage she says "Now I've seen everything" and the spirit leaves her body).

I think you should take it seriously and send them a full plan- including a Visio Diagram or a Flow Chart of some sort.
Perhaps this one?

No I work for a small mfg. shop. We have about 35 employees.

We do work for quite a few OEM's that have locations throughout the US and International.

Re: I think NOW I've seen it all!Swine Flu Pandemic related

I am part of the The Crisis Management Committee at my job. A huge part of my job is Business Continuity Management.
I am currently putting together a Pandemic Plan for a division of 450 people in my company.

While it may seem crazy regarding the Swine flu, having some sort of backup plan for any type of Pandemic situation is extremely important for any company large or small.

It is something we should all take serious.

I have no idea how we can put a plan together! I guess if more customers send me requests than I'll call our insurance people for help!Chat Icon

In this economy the only back up plan I can see is closing the business . We can't shut down for any length of time .
