I thought state parks & beaches stopped charging after labor day???

I thought state parks & beaches stopped charging after labor day???
I always thought state parks stopped charging after labor day. Hecksher State Park was still charging $8 to get in today!!!

4/2-6/24: $8 per car
6/25-9/5: $10 per car
9/10-10/10: $8 per car
Non-Profit Buses (By permit only) $35
Commercial Buses $75

That is so crazy! DH & I used to always take our first son there in April and May, and it was always free. I guess they changed it in the last year!

That is so crazy! DH & I used to always take our first son there in April and May, and it was always free. I guess they changed it in the last year!
Another way to get more money!! Soon they'll be charging all year!

I thought state parks & beaches stopped charging after labor day???
I worked at Jones Beach for 7 years, starting in 2000. The whole time I worked thete, they charged on weekends and holidays starting in April, 7 days/week from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and weekends/holidays from Labor Day through Thanksgiving.

After Labor Day they charge only on the weekends, always has been.
