I told my class on friday!!!
I tried to be creative.....it was that time that I had to tell with less than 10 weeks to go so I just went for it....
We have been doing a unit on Helen Keller and learning all about the sense of hearing and sight....so we studied ASL and braille....and my kids have been fascinated with it....
I cut out all the letters to "Surprise! Mrs. CXXXXXXXX (my name) is having a baby!" and put them on a piece of paper for them to decode using their ASL alphabet sheet and then let them get to being detectives...
I told them when they decoded it, to come see me and i would give them a treat (I baked sugar cookies and put pink sugar on them to give them the girl hint!)
of course by the time half the class had done it, they were giving ti away with their loud reactions, but they were so cute...one boy told me there was no way b/c he can tell  ....then they kept asking me if it was for real....lol...they were so cute....
we had our party for spring in the afternoon and i always have everyone who can come join us (parents) so they soon all knew too...but I sent a note home too....
i feel relieved....its so bad that i just couldn't figure out how to just say it...and i was so nervous... I am ridiculous!!!
