i took my alexandra to her 1 week dr
appt.. the dr said he heard her hip "click" and now i have to go take her to get a sonogram to make sure her hip isnt dislocated or something..he asked if hip displasia ran in my family and it doesnt..but should i be nervous? has this happened to anyone? im so nervous..i thought she was perfectly fine..she is only 9 days old..im so scared for her..

This happened to a friend of mine. Her DS just had to wear a hip brace, kinda like an ace bandage for a couple weeks. It went back to normal quick

my nephew had this and the dr. told her to put one two diapers at a time and she did that for about a month.

From what I know stuff like this is not uncommon when you have a vaginal birth. My friend's daughter had her shoulder dislocated when she was born and they didnt find out about it until she was about a week old. Your baby will be OK

I had it when I was little and I went on to compete in sports (track, basketball, softball...) I'm sure she'll be fine!

Ali's ped said that she has a click as well, I have to take her for a sono as well.
And I had a c-section - so I don't know how this happen

I went through this with Jordana. I was born with a hip dysplasia and since they caught it early- I was treated early with a brace. I totally forgot- but my mom was at the first dr. appointment and mentioned it to the doctor. Since Jordana was a breech and my family history, the doctor suggested a sonogram. Jordana was a total champ. It doesn't hurt them at all.
I'm sure it is all OK- Your doctor is being very thorough and you should feel good about that. Even if they find anything now, she is so young- they can treat it immediately with a brace and she will have no future affects of it. No matter what the sonogram shows, it will be OK!!
