he didn't seem any more soothed than if I were walking the house holding him....

so now I'm considering (really considering) a sling.

Is there a difference in all the slings out there?
I like the look of the hot sling but the price is a little high.

Are some easier to use than others? I am a clutz and I need something easy, and possibly one that can accomodate the bigger of my 2 little ones.

go to the sale page for a steal!

ETA: The lucky slings are pouch slings like hotslings and much cheaper. I would suggest this route to see if you like it before investing in a hot sling.

Hot Slings are actually pouches. I've never used one, but I know people like them. All ring slings function the same way -- the difference between brands would be in the workmanship and material. I have one sling from Kangaroo Korner that I like. My other one is from sleepingbabyproductions.net -- her prices are the best, but, since she does all herself she only takes a few orders per day. Ring slings do require a learning curve and can take awhile to get used to, but, I promise, once you master it your sling will be your best friend. You might also consider a Moby Wrap -- big learning curve there, but these wraps hold the baby super-securely. I'll try to post some pics of my slings.

This is my solarveil sling -- my current favorite.

I would suggest Hot Slings as well. They are great!
