I want an award for being such a trooper and getting the job done!!! (mini update below)
3 of my cases were on for court today, 2 of them with a new judge that I had never met before. Usually I would welcome the opportunity to kills 3 birds with one stone but for today I was a bit nervous about how much stamina I would have and what the new judge would think of me if I wasn't totally sharp. Well, it was so hot in the courtroom and I started to feel faint, and I even took off my jacket in front of the judge. I have never ever ever ever ever done that in court. I considered stopping the hearing but I trudged on. After the hearing, someone asked if I was okay, so b/c the subject came up I apologized. The judge then said that I did a great job documenting the cases and that he really had all he needed based on my paperwork and brief (that is a good sign that it will go in our favor). He told my client that I did a great job and thanked my client for such honest testimony. I'll take some credit for that b/c I stress honesty to all my clients. I feel so much better to get these cases behind me and that the judge was reasonable about my situation (he is someone I will be dealing with often in the future). It sucks that I wasn't doing well, but I think it all worked out!!!!

I'm bumping this b/c I just found out that we won 2 of those 3 cases. And the other one came through a few weeks ago. Just when I was getting stressed wondering how I would handle the appeals while on maternity leave, now I do not have to appeal.

I'm bumping this b/c I just found out that we won 2 of those 3 cases. And the other one came through a few weeks ago. Just when I was getting stressed wondering how I would handle the appeals while on maternity leave, now I do not have to appeal.
