Re: i want to feel kicks!!!
How far along are you? I am 26 weeks PG with #3 and have just started to feel some real all-out KICKS the past week or so. Before that, the occasional flutter when I was resting.
And in the heat and humidity, its not too early to swell. Drink a LOT of water... sounds dumb, I know... but the more you drink, the more you pee, and the more you pee the more you flush ALL the fluid out of your body (including your ankles)

Re: i want to feel kicks!!!
I know you said you drink a ton of water but are you really watching your salt? Now that I've been looking, I can't believe the amount of salt in some things that I never would of expected to be high in sodium!
eta: Dr. Oz was on oprah a while back and he said that a very minimal amount of salt in our diet comes from the kind we actual sprinkle on (table salt)...and that most of it is already in the foods...I was surprised to hear that too!!

Re: i want to feel kicks!!!
i will take a closer look at the sodium contents. I never sprinkle salt on my food (i actually prefer pepper). How much sodium is "too" much?? I buy "low sodium' whenever i can. How do i figure out how much salt is in a spinach roll from the pizza place? I eat cheese - which cheese is low sodium? I've been drinking more than 64oz of water every day or seltzer water (no sodium).
I am 21 weeks

Re: i want to feel kicks!!!
Swolen ankles usually start around 23-25 weeks...it could be that you're eating a lot of sodium-filled foods such as soups, cheeses, certain meats (like sausage) etc...
Im 23 weeks and my belly no joke dances at night...my son kicks hard!

Re: i want to feel kicks!!!
I am about 18 weeks and think I felt a flutter once. I can only describe it as a slight twitch.
I also am a bit on the heavier side so I was told I might not feel anything until I am further along.
The heat my also have something to do with the swelling aside from the salt.

Re: i want to feel kicks!!!
i'm suspecting the heat more than the salt because i really haven't had much sodium food that i can think of... or at least not enough to warrant these ankles. maybe its a combo of everything that and being in the same "desk position" all day??? i'll ask the doctor Thursday.
All i ate today was cheerios with skim milk, a mixed green salad with hardboiled eggs (plain balsamic vinegar) no dressing/salt) and melon and peaches... and i drank water and a cup of decafe... my ankles should not be swollen from this?

Re: i want to feel kicks!!!
I know the heat does the same for me, I can't even see the bones in my ankles some nights. Definitely drink your water, I force mine and I hate it.
Sorry you aren't feeling kicks. Mine are so light, DH still can't feel them. Hang in there!

Hmmm...maybe just by nature your ankles tend to get swolen and there is nothing you can really do about it since you seem to eat healthy...my feet get a little swolen in the evening as well...I just keep them elevated when I'm relaxing...
