* I want to get another Chihuahua but I am scared. Come on in!
I am so nervous though. I am in love with my Lola girl and I would feel terrible if she did not like the new addition. I have been talking with a breeder ... there is a 5month old chi that looks just like our dog and who is very playful and curious like Lola. I sort of fell in love with Evette (thats her current name) lol because she looks exactly like my dog!!!!
Not sure what I should do! My mom came to visit recently and brough her Chi Maggie. Lola seemed to love her and they played together really nicely! I hope I am that lucky if I get this new one.
Advice Needed!

Re: * I want to get another Chihuahua!
I have a 4 year old chi, and we are staying with Danielle's mom now. She just adopted a 10 month old Pomeranian Collie mix. My dog is the ALPHA male. He wants the other dog to make sure that she knows that he is in charge. It took 3 weeks for him to be ok about being in the same room with her. They play together, share food, and toys, but sometimes get rough and we have to seperate them. I could never get another dog, because I dont think my chi would like that. I bet my chi cannot wait to go home so he is the only dog again. Also I know that my dog gets very jealous when I give affection to the other dog, or if the other dog jumps on me when I come in the house. My dog starts growling and jumping on the collie.

Thank you Scott! Has your chi been around other dogs prior to the new addition? I am only asking because I bring Lola around dogs all the time and she seems to be totally fine. Even when I dog sit my aunts dog, a huge chocolate lab. But maybe its different when they live together full time.
Thanks for sharing your story.
I feel like she may benefit from a new dog because she in only 1 year old and really enjoyed my moms chi Magge who is 6months old. But you never know.
I would never ever want to make Lola upset and uncomfortable in our home. I wish she could talk!! lol

Tiny never really liked having other dogs in his home. He is very territorial. If your dog is not like that then she should be ok with an addition to your family. I would test the waters first, by bringing a dog into your house to see how she acts. Scott

Re: * I want to get another Chihuahua but I am scared. Come on in!
I was also worried about bringing in another chihuahua with my Peep. I was worried that her personality would change for the worse and that she might not be as lovey with me anymore. I decided that I would see what happens and finally found another chi in need of rescuing. The rescue told me the best way to introduce another dog into your house is younger, smaller, and opposite sex. Uno fit the bill for all of these things and I have to say it was one of the best decisions of my life! Her personality has not changed a bit, and in fact sometimes I even find them playing tug of war together! Sorry this was long, but I wanted to include all the details! Oh and one more thing-there are plenty of chis that are purebred and adoptable through rescues!! Good luck!
