I Want to KILL my Husband!!
For the most part Patrick is a sweet kid. But, he does have his moments. Today he walked right up to me & stomped on my foot. No ryme or reason for it just did it. So, of course I sent him straight to bed. No TV no video games staight to bed. (mind you this was about a 1/2 hour ago so he should be in bed) I went in my room to get the girls ready for bed & when went by Patricks room & I hear the vidoe game on. So Of course mad as hell I go in turn of the tv & the game. And the bawling starts.
Now John puts him to bed reads him stories every night. So, when he went in the room to put him the bed Patrick was crying saying how I wouldn't let him play his game. And I hear John saying. I'll put it on in a minute  . I open the door saying "no you won't! I told him no tv or video games tonight" John asks why. He knows why he was there when I first told Patrick to go to bed. So he says "What I'm supposed to break my promise of playing with him" I was furious I said "Fine & Whatever let him walk all over us & make his own rules"
How the hell am I to discipline when I have a flipping husband who wants to be his friend? And as usual I look like the bad/mean parent!
Sorry I had to vent!!!

I am sorry that this happened. I think I would have called my husband out of the room and spoken with him about the fact that I already set a punishment (which IMO was VERY justified) and that you would like it respected. I don't think children should ever know that parents are not totally a team...then they learn to divide and conquer.

Same thing happens in my house, that is why they always want Daddy when they get in trouble because they know he is the pushover. Hang in there, but nip it in the butt now, you don't want this transcending into teenage years!
